Pfeiffer enjoyed the tradition I have of celebrating her birthday all month long. She loved it! She’s continued to ask, “it’s my birthday month?”, in which of course I know how to tell her it’s October. But she then says, “it’s Issac’s birthday month?”, who is a friend in her class who must have an upcoming birthday hah She’s a hoot.
For her party this year, we wanted to do something small. She had one school friend, our neighbors, and a few family members and we kept it low-key. We did, however, have to have a theme so in honor of one of her favorite songs, You Are My Sunshine, we chose a sun themed party. (She also loves the Mr. Sun song and she is our little sunshine so the theme really worked all around.)
The decorations came from Amazon and you can find them here and here for cheap and they were super cute. And then to go with the theme I made little yellow goodie bags with sunglasses, bubbles, glow sticks and necklaces, and used some of the little inflatable suns as gifts too. Trust me, I wasn’t trying to go all out. Wanted to stay on a tight budget but thought it would be cute to have a little something.
We got vegan munchies and cupcakes from Community Co-op here in Tallahassee and everyone enjoyed them.
My dress has no label and I honestly can’t even remember which boutique I bought it at years ago (I think one in Canada, to be honest) but my shoes are Minnetonkas and you can snag some here (which I also have had for years). Almost time to get my Minnetonka fringe boots out, yay!
Here are some pictures from the day! The kids loved playing in the ‘dino spa’ and seeing the baby bunny rabbits that we randomly found living in our backyard.
Her actually birthday was that following Friday and I was actually heading out of town for a bachelorette party in Rosemary Beach for one of my best friends, oops (hence my beloved B&R suitcase in the back of one of the pictures hah). But that was okay because she got a visit from her grandparents. Below are a few more pics of her opening some gifts (new Converse, socks, and a Skoolzy Peg Board set) and then on her actually birthday. Outfit below is old Urban Outfitters top, vintage Abercrombie jeans from Pat Pierce, and similar booties here and necklace here.
Yes, dear Pfeiffer, you certainly make us happy when skies are grey. Happy 2nd birthday sunshine!
