Happy Friday (and a shameless happy birthday week to me)!

Here is a list of the things I am currently loving:

  • Favorite Activity: Yoga
    • I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s seriously life-changing (and I don’t say that lightly). It just makes my entire being better. Seriously. I prefer to go into a studio for class but there are tons of videos and guides online for every different style and level you could want. In the next week, even if it’s just for a short period of time, I encourage you to try it. Cut the excuses: I’m too busy to do yoga, I’m not flexible enough to do yoga, I’m not young enough to do yoga, etc. You get the picture. All of those are reasons why you need to do yoga. Just try it. You won’t regret it.

  • Favorite Summer Staple: Maaji Swimwear
    • I have been in love with Maaji for a few years now. With as much as I’m in a bathing suit during the summer (because when it feels like 108 degrees outside there’s not much you can do to stay cool unless you just opt out of going outside) a good bathing suit is key. If you disagree, I’m happy for you, but I think buying a bathing suit is about as much fun as going to the dentist (sorry to my dentist friends, I love you but I’d rather see you outside your office). However, with the way these bathing suits fit, it makes the experience of buying and wearing them infinitely better. If you can get over what I would call ‘wonky’ sizing (I’m an XL in one of my tops) and try on a variety of styles I would bet you’ll find one you love. I justify the pricing due to the fact they’re all reversible (and the prints are so fun and unique), I can mix and match with previous season and again, the way they fit and make me feel. Oh, and you can buy them all in separate pieces which is also a plus. Check out a bunch of their styles here.
  • Favorite Quote:
    • Found this quote from Sarah Silverman and just feel as though it’s so true. The doubt and second guessing that begins at a young age is real and often stays with us as we get older. You don’t know you can’t do, be, think, feel certain things until someone tells you that you can’t or you shouldn’t (or in the case of this quote, until they say girls can do              too). Keep fostering young girls’ dreams as if they’re no different than any boys’ and they’ll grow up to do great things.

  • Favorite Jams: Girl Talk
      • I am rekindling my relationship with Girl Talk. Girl Talk, who consists of DJ Gregg Gillis, creates mashups of songs. If you know me well, you know that I can rarely listen to a full song (tied my older brother for the Drunk, Stoned, or Stupid card, ‘Changes song every 30 seconds’, so I guess we can see where I may have gotten it from). Well sorry, not sorry, I refuse to apologize for my song ADD because sometimes you just want something that’s hundred miles per hour, changing quickly, and makes you feel like you can dominate your work day or a workout. Check out Girl Talk on Spotify here. Warning: not for young children or adults who don’t like expletives.

Let me hear from y’all!
