How many times does God have to nudge you before you actually listen? Or how often do you ask for something and God drops it in your lap and then you question if it’s the right thing for you or not? My husband and I found ourselves in this type of situation a few weeks ago. He was presented with a job opportunity for at least the third time and this time the specifics were exactly what he wanted. To try to keep a long story short for those who don’t care to read a lot hah, we are fully pursuing this nudge from God and moving to Tallahassee.

We had pondered the idea of a move as Jeff’s insurance business with Symmetry Financial Group had been taking him to Tallahassee and the surrounding area for a few months now but I wasn’t fully on board. On one hand I was open to the idea of moving (preferably somewhere with distinct seasons…give me some snow please) and on the other hand I truly love our home in Pensacola. Not only do I love our actual house but I love the community we have there with our families and friends. We had both lived in Tally before for school and post-grad life (go ‘Noles) and really liked it but I wasn’t sure what it would be like to now live there as a full-blown adult and mother.

For a little more backstory, before Jeff decided to dive into the insurance world (another total God thing), he got his nursing home administrator license back with the idea for him to do interim work and for us to possibly travel alongside to new areas. He will now be the interim nursing home administrator at River Valley Rehabilitation Center. This move will allow him to do both jobs (yes, he’s going to be working his butt off and I am so proud of him for wanting to pursue both of his goals and provide for his family) and will serve as an adventurous move for our family.

We are confident that this is what God wants for us right now, however, even with that assurance, it does not make it easy. It’s been a whirlwind, roller coaster of emotions, and has tested us both but it does feel rewarding and there is a sense of peace about fully jumping into God’s plan for our lives and we are excited to see what’s to come.

We plan to have our own place in Tallahassee at the end of this month and until then Jeff is living full-time with my brother, Ron, and sister-in-law, Anna (we cannot thank them enough for allowing us to crash for an extended period of time) and I am balancing life with Pfeiffer between Pensacola and Tallahassee.

If you have any loved ones in the Blountstown, Florida area needing skilled nursing facility placement or need any help with customized life insurance policies (mortgage protection, term life, universal life, disability, critical illness, retirement protection, SmartStart savings, etc.), please reach out to me and/or Jeff!

Stay tuned to hear more about our journey back to Tally!
